Payroll Accountant

Job Summary:
PayrollAccountantis responsible for accurately processing payroll, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance withfederal and state regulations as well ascompany policies.Strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and the ability to work effectively under tight deadlinesare required for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect, verify, and enter employee timesheets and attendance records
- Calculate wages, overtime and deductions in accordance with company policies and labor law
- Process bi-weekly, semi-monthly, or monthly payrolls and ensure timely payments
- Maintain accurate and up to date payroll records, including employee information, wages, deductions, and tax details
- Update payroll data as necessary, including changes in employee status, pay rates, or benefits
- Ensure payroll procedures comply with federal, state, and local laws and company policies
- Prepare and submit payroll tax returns, W-2 forms, and other related documentsas needed
- Generate payroll reports for management, HR, andAccountingdepartments as needed
- Assist in preparing year end payroll reports and audits
- Address and resolve employee payroll inquiries and discrepancies promptly and professionally
- Liaise with HR and other departments to ensure accurate employee records
- Assist with garnishments, benefits deductions and other payroll related tasks
- Stay updated on changes in payroll regulations and best practices
- Other duties as needed
MinimumQualifications& Education:
- Associates degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- 3yearsexperienceasaPayrollAccountantor in similar role
- Proficientwith payroll software (ADP, QuickBooks, Paycheck) and MS Office
- Strong numerical and data entry skills with highlevel ofaccuracy
- Understanding of federal and state payroll laws and regulations
- Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, both management and staff alike
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelorsdegree in accounting, finance, or related field
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) from the American Payroll Association
Work Environment:
- This position will include office work, butsome workwillbeperformedin all-weather conditionsoutdoors.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs, andlift upto 50 pounds.
- Must work in compliance with thesite's safety program.
