Position Title: Construction and Build-Out Technician
Location: Chicago IL- Onsite
Duration: 6 months (initial contract) with potential for extension.
**Travel Requirements: Travel to properties with company technicians (travel expenses covered).**
Role Overview:
The Construction and Build-Out Technician will support the operations team in managing construction and installation activities for apartments, condos, and commercial properties. The role requires technical expertise in cable termination and testing while ensuring quality and safety standards are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with construction and build-out projects, including apartments, condos, and commercial sites.
- Terminate and test twisted pair, coaxial, and fiber optic cables.
- Perform ladder work and visit sites alongside team members.
- Maintain compliance with safety protocols, especially for rooftop activities.
- Collaborate with a team comprising 1 Operations Manager, 1 Lead Technician, and 3 Technicians.
- Address outages on an as-needed basis (overtime eligible).
Must-Have:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in:
- Terminating and testing twisted pair, coax, and fiber optic cables.
- Safety training, particularly for rooftop work.
Preferred but Not Mandatory:
- Experience in fiber optic splicing/termination and point-to-point radio.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Relevant licenses or technical certifications.
