Summary/Objective
In keeping with our organization’s goal of improving the lives of the residents we serve; the Assisted Living Director plays a critical role in providing superior customer service and nursing care to all tenants. The Assisted Living Director safeguards the health, safety, and welfare of all tenants under their care by following applicable laws, regulations, and established nursing policies and procedures. Assess tenants needs, develop individual services plans, administer nursing care as applicable, supervise Assisted Living staff and other personnel in the delivery of care.
Essential Functions
This position directly supervises assisted living staff.
Work Environment
This job operates in a health care setting. This role requires regular walking to various locations around the facility. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
This role may also come into contact with tenants who may have contagious illnesses, exposed to blood or other body fluids, fumes or airborne particles and chemicals.
This role will require travel between to sites located in Missouri Valley and Woodbine.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands or fingers, reach with hands and arms, talk or hear, ability to read and write; ability to communicate with staff; ability to remain calm under pressure. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, or balance and stoop and kneel. The employee will assist to adequately lift and/or transfer resident(s) weighing over 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and peripheral vision. Ability to remain calm under pressure.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This position is part of a health care facility that is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Rotating shifts as well as holiday and work during inclement weather will be required. This position requires an after hour on-call fulfillment to ensure any emergency needs are addressed timely.
Required Education And Experience
Preferred experience: RN, management or supervisory experience in long-term care, geriatric nursing or assisted living.

- Ensure tenants receive high-quality care and support, including personal care, activities, and meals.
- Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate staff, fostering a positive and supportive work environment.
- Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to assisted living facilities.
- Communicates and interacts effectively and tactfully with tenants, visitors, families, peers, and supervisors.
- Implement and monitor quality assurance measures to ensure tenant's safety and well-being.
- Tenant screening and leasing, identifying and assessing potential tenants to ensure appropriate occupancy.
- Financial oversight and validating of accuracy of tenants bills to include tenants who qualify for the HCBS waiver.
- May be involved in marketing the facility and attracting new tenants.
- Address tenant needs, resolve conflicts, and implement solutions to improve operations.
- Develop individualized plan of care in collaboration with the tenant or responsible party and interdisciplinary care team by documenting problems, goals, and approaches.
- Implement plan of care consistently, effectively and cost efficiently with focus on tenant centered outcomes.
- Identify needs and provide input for discharge planning and follow-up throughout length of stay.
- Monitor tenant activity and provide nursing care as appropriate including charting and recordkeeping.
- Work with physician and/or other health care professionals (Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, Podiatrist, Dentist, Case Manager etc.) keeping him/her informed of tenant’s condition; and notify physician and/or other healthcare professionals immediately of significant changes of condition.
- Work in collaboration with physician and/or other healthcare professionals by sharing information relevant to changing plan of care.
- Attend and participate in departmental meetings and in-services.

- Basic computer knowledge and ability with an aptitude to learn company software.
