About the Company - The USA based of Cargo Sales and Operations Manager will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies to maximize cargo revenue and ensure efficient cargo operations in the US and GSA's serviced countries: Mexico, Canada and America Central. This role includes oversight of cargo sales, logistics, compliance and customer relations, while ensuring smooth coordination with cargo transportation, ground handling, forwarders, airports, traffic companies, airlines and regulatory authorities.
About the Role - Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement sales strategies to grow cargo revenue in the USA, Mexico, Canada and Central America.
- Work closely with airlines alliances, interline partners, and cargo sales agent (GSA) to maximize new business opportunities and maximize load factors and yield.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with clients, freight forwards, airlines (SPA), cargo handling (GSSA), and truck companies.
- Facilitate movement of goods: work with cargo handling and ground handling to expedite and optimize the movement of cargo shipments.
- Maintain relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and other stakeholders.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and pricing strategies to remain competitive.
- Optimize revenue: Define strategies to optimize revenue and pricing.
- Oversee day-to-day cargo operations, ensuring efficient handling, storage, and transportation of cargo.
- Ensure timely and accurate cargo documentation, bookings, and tracking.
- Closely manage the expense budgets for all attended locations as well identify and capitalize on any all costs containment opportunities.
Customer Relations & Service Excellence:
- Maintain strong relationships with key cargo clients, including freight forwarders, shippers, and logistics companies.
- Address customers issues in a timely manner and ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
- Work with internal teams to improve customer experience and cargo handling services.
Regulatory Compliance & Safety:
- Ensure compliance with IATA, TSA, CBP, ICAO, and local Customs regulations.
- Maintain adherence to international trade laws, security protocols, and hazardous materials regulations.
- Conduct audits and inspections to maintain safety and quality standards.
Team Leadership & Performance Management:
- Lead, train, and develop the sales and cargo operations team.
- Set performance targets and evaluate staff performance.
- Fosters culture of continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.
Reporting & Financial Management:
- Monitor sales performance and prepare financial reports.
- Control budgets and optimize cost-efficiency in operations.
- Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions as needed.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor´s degree In Business, Logistics, Supply Chain or a related field.
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in cargo operations and sales management, preferably in the airlines or freight forward industry.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of North American air cargo markets, customs regulations, and sales strategies.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Multilingual skills (English, Spanish, and Portuguese).
Work Environment:
- Office-based in Miami with frequent travel to visit customers in the countries served, airports, and warehouses.
- May require working outside regular hours due to international operations.
