What are the responsibilities and job description for the Activities Coordinator position at Azura Memory Care?
The Quality-of-Life Director is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating engaging activities tailored to the needs and interests of residents with dementia, Alzheimer's, and other conditions. These activities will promote the residents' physical, mental, and social well-being.
Full Time Hours Available:
- 9AM-5PM
Job Duties:
- Implement the MOSAIC quality of life program to enhance residents' mind, body, and spirit.
- Encourage, mentor, and empower staff to consistently practice the MOSAIC program.
- Ensure activity programs are appropriately presented to and facilitated by staff.
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate resident activities monthly, incorporating staff input.
- Provide program content materials to support activity planning.
- Plan and coordinate quarterly family parties/events.
- Develop an arts and crafts program, entertainment for special events, monthly birthday parties, group games, weekly religious services, and individual independent projects that reflect the MOSAIC program.
- Facilitate community integration through recreational activities and develop close working relationships with community organizations. Provide volunteer activities to bring the community into the facility.
- Maintain an adequate supply of books, arts and craft materials, puzzles, magazines, games, and other items for the sensory cart and standard activity list.
- Provide team member orientation and training in activities and resident activity profiles.
- Oversee and schedule quality of life coordinators.
- Assist the director with administrative functions such as admission paperwork, team in-service programs, non-emergency transfer coordination, biannual ISP input, and facility tours.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two years’ experience in working with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementia
- Activity involvement in previous position
- Must demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide recreational therapy services
