Intermediate Interior Designer – Retail and Interior Design StudioCORE Architects is seeking an ambitious, enthusiastic and detail-oriented Intermediate Interior Designer with 5 years of professional experience for their Retail Implementation and Interior Design Studio. This is a full-time, in-person, position with a focus on fast paced, technical heavy retail roll-outs and interior design projects . It functions in the residential, retail, hospitality and commercial sectors.Role RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Interior Design or related field from a recognized institutionMinimum 5 years of relevant experience in the design process, FF&E, specifications, colour selection, and materialsKnowledge of AutoCAD (minimum 2010), Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch Up, Microsoft Office and working knowledge of 3D Studio MaxKnowledge of Ontario Building CodeExceptional graphics and presentation skills to communicate ideas including effective verbal and written skillsAbility to collaborate with other team membersProven ability to identify and solve problems with creative solutionsFluency in French would be an added advantageRole ResponsibilitiesAn Intermediate Interior Designer is responsible for assisting with the production and execution of projects for SD, DD, CD and CA PhaseUnderstanding of code and design concepts, able to reference applicable codes and references for implementationUnderstanding of CA Phase, tracking and submittalsAbility to produce and execute drawing graphic standards with minimal supervisionAbility to develop innovative and functional design solutions and processes for improved design and qualityAssist with the development of innovative and functional design solutions and processes for improved design and qualityParticipate in the creation of the Concept Design, Schematic Design, and Design Development packages, proposals, bidding and tender packages, construction documents, and working budgetsEnsure projects are on track to meet project requirements, deadlines, and budgets and participate in post-construction quality reviewsAssist in the development of material and finish specificationsParticipate in the preparation of the specifications and assist with the coordination of the FF&E, interior architecture plans, finishes, and products with the clientContribute to the review of the design development packages, construction documents, and drawing packages for accuracy, design integrity, and client / brand complianceBuild and maintain lasting relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers, and staffIf you’re interested in the position of Intermediate Interior Designer at CORE, please send your resume and portfolio (not to exceed 20MB) to resume@corearchitects.com and include 1122 in the subject line.
