SUMMARY OF FUNCTION: The Accountant is responsible for applying accepted accounting principles and procedures to
analyze financial information, prepare accurate and timely financial reports and statements, and ensure appropriate
accounting controls. The Accountant is responsible for a wide range of tasks relating to financial planning, management, and
control. This position provides internal accounting support to the college by evaluating, recommending, and implementing
effective accounting practices and procedures. The Accountant must possess broad knowledge of fiscal responsibilities for
College programs and resources, a thorough understanding of general accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and
procedures, as well as applicable state and federal guidelines and regulations.
