Job Summary
We are seeking Construction Estimator to join our team. This is a entry level position. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately estimating project costs, preparing bids, and ensuring that all estimates align with the company's financial goals. This role requires s analytical skills, a solid understanding of construction processes, and the ability to negotiate contracts effectively. This is a Residential, Commercial, Civil and Industrial position.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead.
- Analyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates.
- Utilize software tools such as Bluebeam and HeavyBid for accurate estimating and cost control.
- Collaborate with project management teams to ensure estimates align with project specifications and timelines.
- Negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers to secure competitive pricing.
- Monitor ongoing project costs against estimates to identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
- Conduct site visits to assess conditions and gather information necessary for accurate estimations.
- Maintain organized records of all estimates, contracts, and correspondence related to projects.
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction estimating or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of construction management principles and practices.
- Proficiency in using estimating software such as Bluebeam and HeavyBid.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
- Strong negotiation skills with a focus on achieving favorable contract terms.
- Familiarity with cost control measures and budgeting processes in construction projects.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
