B.E. Blank & Company (“B.E. Blank & Co LP” or “the Firm”) is seeking a high caliber fundraising professional with a track record of success who is passionate about leading our Firm’s effort to sell niche, non-correlated, limited volatility credit strategies to potential investors in the wealth channel (family office, RIA, UHNW, IDF, PPLI, PPVA, interval fund, and fund-of-fund). The Director | Wealth Channel Capital Formation will work directly with the Business Development Team, Chief Financial Officer, and Chief Investment Officer to create, implement, improve, and scale a Wealth Channel business development strategy that supports the Firm’s growth into a world-class investment manager with a best-in-class employee culture.


The ideal candidate is high-performing, goal-oriented, and has demonstratable success in lead identification and lead conversion. (S)he will have a strong combination of sales and relationship-building skills and an established network of contacts within the Wealth Channel. (S)he is a hands-on, self-starter and team player who thrives in an entrepreneurial culture. The successful candidate strives to partner in building an investment firm capable of delivering exceptional outcomes, while pursuing personal growth and maintaining a balanced lifestyle.


The position will pay a base salary, performance-based bonus, team bonus, and provide access to a 401(k) plan with employer match and low-deductible health insurance with 100% of premiums being paid by the Firm.

B.E. Blank & Co LP is the investment manager to multiple private funds that are designed to provide investors with non-correlated, limited volatility, favorable risk-adjusted returns by identifying, sourcing and providing working capital to stakeholder-centric law firms that are mission-oriented and values-aligned.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement an annual business, sales, and strategy plan for prospects
  • Develop and implement a separate sales plan for tier one prospects
  • Drive prospecting activities to cultivate current and future business opportunities through making cold calls, conducting in-person meetings, sending mailings and information, attending conferences and following up on these activities within the Wealth Channel
  • Work closely with internal investment teams, partnering with them to thoroughly understand our investment capabilities and present them effectively to our prospects
  • Make firm-level and product-related presentations (including finals) to prospects in which you credibly articulate the investment strategy for a diverse range of products and vehicles across the private credit asset class. Must demonstrate the ability to convey unique product attributes that differentiate our strategies
  • Attend selective industry-specific conferences to gather market intelligence and insight into new product developments
  • Assist in creating, improving, and scaling a sourcing strategy that will ultimately result in a team building and leadership opportunity
  • Liaise with the Firm’s investment team and the Fund’s investors as needed

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND MINDSET

  • Minimum of seven years of directly relevant institutional sales experience
  • Bachelor’s degree required; CFA and/or MBA is a plus
  • Fully immersed in current industry practices focusing on asset management issues with an aptitude for solutions-oriented selling
  • Active rolodex of Wealth Channel contacts; investment decision makers 
  • Familiarity with industry regulation and accounting concepts; issues that drive investment decisions and allocations
  • Fluency with asset/liability and risk budgeting frameworks utilized by institutions in determining their overall asset allocation
  • Understanding of financial products, investment strategies and asset allocation
  • Deep and broad understanding of the investors, underlying managers, and industry landscape as well as complex financial products and instruments
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication, comprehension, and listening skills, as well as uncompromising professionalism
  • Strong presentation and meeting management skills
  • Disciplined work-ethic that keeps his/her focus and motivation high, even when working repetitively at high-volume
  • Public service experience, including service with the armed forces, in government, or in the non-profit sector is preferred but not required
