Shipping Manager

Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Shipping Manager to manage our shipping and distribution operations. You will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating daily shipping and distribution operations ensuring that all products are shipped and delivered in a timely manner in alignment with the company’s standards. You will play a critical role, ensuring customer satisfaction by delivering goods promptly and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Plan and monitor outgoing deliveries
• Supervise logistics, warehouse, transportation, and customer services
• Organize warehouse, label goods, and process shipments
• Work with other departments to incorporate shipping and warehouse logistics with company procedures and operations
• Keep detailed records to help management understand the logistics perspective
• Build relationships within the company and with external parties, like suppliers or distributors
• Understanding and knowledge of safety and compliance procedures

Qualifications

• Proven leadership skills to guide and oversee the work of the shipping team, ensuring efficient operations and meeting the organization’s shipping objectives.
• Proven experience as shipping manager
• Solid knowledge of logistics procedures
• Outstanding organizational and coordination abilities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks
• Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple shipments, maintain accurate records, and ensure all items are accounted for.
• Problem-solving skills to quickly identify and resolve any issues that may impact shipping schedules, or the quality of goods being shipped.
• Communication skills to coordinate with suppliers, clients, and internal departments, and to provide clear instructions to team members.
• Physical stamina to manage potentially demanding tasks, including long periods of standing and lifting heavy items as needed.

Requirements:

· 1 year experience operating a sit-down forklift

· 2 years experience in shipping, receiving, or a related field

· 3 years experience in a leadership role

· 1 year experience in tile industry

· State driver's license with satisfactory DMV driving record.

· Physically able to lift 70 pounds

· Understanding the daily interaction of how warehousing and distribution works with a customer service team.

· An energetic, hands-on, lead-by-example approach

· Knowledge of warehouse operations

· Leadership skills, the ability to manage teams, and strong problem-solving abilities.

Education:

· Associate’s degree (or equivalent) in logistics or supply chain management (Preferred)

Work Location: Full-time, In person

Work Environment: This position operates in a professional office environment and warehouse setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Full-time: Monday - Friday 8:30am – (completion of job) No Weekends, No overnights
