What are the responsibilities and job description for the Building Official position at B & F Construction Code Services, Inc.?
· Administer the operation of a Building Department.
· Administer the inspections for large commercial and school projects.
· Perform all reviews for various project including zoning.
· Direct the operation of the municipal staff.
· Direct the operation of the B & F staff working in a municipality or on a large project.
· Final proof all reports for proper procedure and technical accuracy for assigned projects.
· Review all inspections reports for proper procedure and technical accuracy for assigned projects.
· Perform a field accuracy check for inspections and plan reviews for assigned projects.
· Attend municipal meeting as required including evening meetings.
· Review, and update on a regular basis all municipal policies and procedures.
· Mentor all new administrative staff for assigned projects.
· Customer service, telephone contact with municipal clients and applicants.
· Respond to client concerns for inspection and review accuracy and quality.
· Attend meetings with clients, trade associations and represent the company as assigned.
· Instruct training classes assigned.
· Make recommendation for changes and/or improvements to policies and procedures.
· Provide municipal and private industry code research and reports as assigned.

Job Requirements:
Minimum of 8 years' experience in general office, of which 5 years are in inspection and plan review or equivalent industry experience. Working knowledge of municipal administration, plan review and inspection office procedures. Ability to apply company and municipal policies to plans and reports.
Ability to work with clients and design professionals to process plans and reports.
Ability to work in fast-paced office environment.
Excellent customer service, communication, multi-tasking and organizational skills. Proficient in MS Office.
Technical Requirements:
ICC Certified Commercial Building, Mechanical, Electric, Energy Inspector / Reviewer. Certified Building Official.
