The Estimator is responsible for estimating complex civil and commercial underground utility projects (electricity, gas, telecommunication).
Responsibilities
- Prepare and lead the estimating process for complex civil and commercial underground utility projects
- Read and review bid documentation to ensure a complete understanding of the project
- Prepare and oversee detailed take offs and estimates thoroughly and in a timely manner
- Responsible for project sequence/scheduling, budgets, and cost/revenue projections
- Understand and adhere to project goals and deadlines
- Solicit, evaluate and negotiate sub-contractor quotes
- Adhere to B&F Code of Conduct
- Bachelors degree, preferably in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. Will consider experience in lieu of degree
- 5 years experience estimating complex underground utility projects (electricity, gas, telecommunication)
- Experience in project budget creation, developing Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) proposal packages for contracts, scheduling, forecasting, submittals, job meetings, and bid day management
- Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong communication, organization, and problem solving skills with excellent attention to detail, and a strong attention to detail
- Ability to build positive and sustainable relationships with peers, subordinates, and vendors
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products
- Knowledge and experience using Bid2Win, HCSS Heavy Bid, Hard Dollar, and Microsoft Project
Salary : $100,000 - $120,000
