Job Summary
Responsible for overseeing the operation and maintenance of vacuum trucks, including scheduling jobs, leading a team of operators and helpers, ensuring proper safety protocols are followed, coordinating maintenance and repairs, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations related to waste disposal and transportation.
Responsibilities
- Hire, train, and supervise a team of vacuum truck operators and helpers
- Ensure operators are properly trained in safe operation procedures, including proper use of equipment and safety gear
- Conduct monthly team meetings and performance evaluations
- Monitor the condition of all vacuum trucks, schedule preventative maintenance and repairs
- Attend job meetings to forecast operations
- Assign crews and trucks to specific job sites based on location and task requirements, and schedule third party vendors when needed
- Maintain clear communication with Project Managers, Superintendents, Foremen
- Build and maintain relationships with vendors
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Adhere to B&F Code of Conduct
Required Skills & Abilities
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3 years driving experience with CDL Class A
- 3 years of experience operating vacuum, hydro excavation, and combo trucks
- 3 years of experience using high-pressure water and vacuum systems
- Related work experience in construction, or water or wastewater utility operations
- Proven ability to effectively supervise a team of operators and helpers
- Must be able to maintain appropriate licenses and certificates
- Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Ability to work hours other than regular daytime schedule such as on call or emergency response situations (i.e., early-mornings, afternoons, evenings, late-nights, weekends)
