JOB SUMMARY
This position is accountable for the safe and efficient operations of the various hot heading machines and for maintaining a clean, well – organized work area. As Shift Lead, the incumbent will act as liaison between shift employees and Supervisors/Managers, communicating problems and questions as they may arise on their shift.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS Manufacturing environment. Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment; Ability to position self to move, install/takeout, adjust, position, measure, and handle materials weighing up to 70 pounds.

- Operate heading machinery safely and productively.
- Assure that quality standards, inspections, and counts, meet job requirements.
- Utilize SAP and MII software to monitor proper workflow of production orders in department.
- Record use of consumable tools.
- Advise/recommend placement of workforce to appropriate machinery. Facilitate logical work assignments of operators / set up personnel. To available machinery.
- Act as liaison between shift employees and appropriate supervisor or manager, communicating problems and questions as they may arise.
- Shift Lead will be held responsible for productivity and performance standards of assigned departments.
- Assures that safety precautions are observed at all times including the use of safety glasses, safety shoes, ear protection (if applicable) and machine guards.
