B-K Lighting TEKA Illuminations’ Marketing Department is looking for a Corporate Event Specialist to provide us with enthusiastic planning and execution of our company and marketing-related events.
Position Overview
We’ll be relying on you to help us plan and execute some of the most memorable internal and external events to ever be hosted by B-K. Whether it’s a rapidly approaching tradeshow event riddled with tight deadlines, or six long months of planning for our signature annual BKU event, you’ll be the point person working to ensure it all comes together like perfectly executed choreography. And when hiccups and roadblocks inevitably pop up, you will be right there to get things back on track.
Key Responsibilities You Will Have
- Plan, facilitate, and execute internal and external events including but not limited to:
- Create consistent standards that support company and brand goals/objectives for events and trade shows
- Manage the implementation of standards for trade shows, tabletops and sponsorship events
- Develop and implement training programs for all participants to effectively present brand strategies through events and trade shows
- Work with management to develop a system to determine ROI on events and trade shows when and where possible
- Participate in marketing strategies/campaigns and execution
- Manage trade show and event budgets
- Manage promotional item inventory and purchasing
- Assist outside sales personnel with events/tradeshow needs
- Help manage inventory and logistics of sales and product samples
Education and Experience You Should Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Event Management, Business Marketing, or related field
- 3-5 Years Event Planning/Management Experience Preferred
- Experience with full Microsoft Office Suite
Skills and Attributes You Will Bring to the Table
- Extremely detail oriented, possess excellent organizational skills, follow up and analytical skills
- Highly motivated and creative
- Good communication skills (oral and written); to prepare and communicate marketing material for a broader audience
- Ability to make quick decisions with discretion and independent judgment
- Be able to operate under pressure and meet deadlines
- Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Adobe Suite a plus but not necessary
