Wells Fargo is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Systems Architect to support the strategy, design, and implementation of our critical middleware and File transfer technology platforms. In this role, you will be a key leader in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of our core messaging and file transfer infrastructure, enabling seamless data flow across the enterprise and vendor solutions. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in file transfer, middleware technologies, and leading large-scale data exchange initiatives. You will be responsible for shaping the future of our middleware landscape, ensuring it aligns with our business objectives and adheres to industry best practices. This role requires close collaboration with engineering teams, product owners, and stakeholders across the organization In this role, you will: Lead the architecture and design of file transfer solutions, ensuring they meet business needs, security requirements, and compliance standards. This includes defining the technical direction, selecting appropriate technologies, and overseeing implementation. Perform thorough evaluations of File Transfer Solutions and middleware technologies and vendor offerings to identify best solutions for business needs considering factors like cost, performance, scalability, and security. Develop and maintain comprehensive architecture specifications for middleware and File Transfer technologies. Socialize the specification with stakeholders to get their buy-in and approval from Architecture Review Board. Serve as the design authority on middleware platforms including Kafka, IBM MQ, Solace and middleware services on public cloud to architect scalable, reliable and performant solutions. Collaborate with product and engineering team to define strategic lifecycle and currency of key products. Optimize and Rationalize middleware product portfolio by promoting reusability, eliminating redundancies, and phasing out products that do not align with the strategic vision. Develop architecture standards, and patterns to ensure consistency, scalability, and alignment with organization goals. Provide vision, direction and expertise to leadership on implementing innovative and significant solutions. Act as subject matter expert for the File Transfer Solutions and middleware technologies. Required Qualifications: -5 years of Systems Architecture experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education -3 years of experience with File Transfer Technologies -5 years of experience with event/message driven architecture using the various middleware technologies in private and public cloud. -3 experience with implementing and enforcing governance framework for middleware technologies including the use of tools and techniques for schema management, data lineage. Desired Qualifications: -File Transfer technologies including various protocols (SFTP, FTPS, HTTPS, REST APIs) and technologies (MFT, Axway Secure Transport, SAFET, Connect:Direct). -5 years of middleware platform architecture to support technologies including Kafka, IBM MQ, Solace and middleware services on Azure and GCP. -Understanding of network topologies, middleware protocols, and security measures, including VPNs and DMZs. -Certification in Kafka, IBM MQ or Solace -Experience working on Kafka Streams, Kafka connect, Apache Flink, MQ Clustering, Topic Hierarchies, Guaranteed messaging and replay capabilities. -Familiar with tools like Terraform, Ansible, Packer for infrastructure automation. -Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to interact with all levels in the organization.
