The Town of Blackstone is looking for a Help Desk Support Specialist to provide front-line IT support for Town Hall, Public Works, and Public Safety departments. This role will assist users with technical issues, manage service requests, and ensure the smooth operation of end-user devices and software.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the first point of contact for IT-related issues, providing technical assistance via phone, email, and in-person support.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network connectivity issues.
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows 10/11 workstations, Office 365, and Google Suite applications.
- Assist users with email, cloud storage, printers, and VoIP system support.
- Manage help desk tickets and escalate unresolved issues to higher-tier support.
- Perform basic network troubleshooting and assist with system updates and security patches.
- Support mobile devices and remote access configurations.
- Maintain IT documentation, including user guides and troubleshooting steps.
- Provide user training on software applications and IT best practices.
- Assist with inventory management of IT equipment and software licenses.
- Experience with help desk ticketing systems and troubleshooting methodologies.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple requests.
- Must be available for on-call support for urgent IT issues.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40.00 - $60.00 per hour
