Position Summary:

This is a fast paced accounting position within the corporate finance department. The candidate must be able to quickly learn the financial systems (JD Edwards and other in-house databases) and how the data is populated, rolled-up and analyzed in multiple Excel files. A solid understanding and experience with financial statement preparation is a must. The duties are primarily repetitive, but require basic analytical and problem solving skills. Good oral and written (email) communication skills are critical as this person will be interfacing with different department people throughout the organization. The successful candidate will be able to quickly learn new skills (particularly within Excel and Access) and contribute to process improvement.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Intermediate Excel (ie: vlookups, linking, spreadsheet design layout). Must be able to quickly learn and utilize various Excel functions. *Excel knowledge will be tested during interview process*
• MS Word
• Three to Five years’ experience with:
• Large Financial MRP/ERP experience (ie: JDEdwards/SAP)
• Financial close and account analysis, including multiple locations.
• Experience with outside audit.

Desired Qualifications:

• Advanced Excel (ie: Pivot Tables, complex formulas)
• Microsoft Access (basic understanding of tables, query design)
• JDEdwards experience
• Manufacturing environment and cost accounting knowledgePeriod End close, including journal entries and general ledger account analysis
• Balance sheet account reconciliations.
• External audit work paper preparation.
• Basic financial analysis (ie: trending, flux analysis).
• Organize and maintain records and files (including electronic files).
• Maintain customer marketing accrual, broker commissions and freight accrual analysis, including tracking and coding of payments. (Requires basic knowledge of pivot tables)A proven track record of results with a bias for action
