BA Global Talent is seeking an experienced Investment Advisory Specialist to provide high-level support within the Office of Energy (OE) at the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC). The officer will manage complex, sensitive, and precedent-setting international finance projects in critical regions including the Amazon, Southeast Asia, and the Congo. This is a dynamic role requiring strong analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills to advance U.S. foreign policy priorities through strategic development finance.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the structuring, negotiation, and execution of direct loans and loan guarantees for major international energy and infrastructure projects.
- Conduct in-depth financial, legal, economic, political, and technical analyses of proposed projects in emerging markets.
- Develop financial models and conduct sensitivity analyses to evaluate project feasibility and risks.
- Coordinate with U.S. agencies, development banks, private consultants, and foreign governments throughout the deal cycle.
- Present loan proposals and recommendations to internal DFC approval committees and external stakeholders.
- Serve as a senior resource and subject matter expert on international finance, policy, and underwriting practices.
- Engage in business development efforts, build partnerships with key stakeholders, and represent DFC at global conferences and events.
- Collaborate with DFC’s regionally based teams, investment advisors, and interagency partners to evaluate and promote project opportunities.
- Track pipeline progress and generate outcome reports for internal and external audiences.
- U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance or higher-level clearance.
- Master’s degree in International Business, Finance, Economics, Political Science, International Relations, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in international finance, financial modeling, investments in developing countries, and related skills in:
- Structuring and analyzing complex international finance or capital market transactions.
- Financial modeling and financial statement analysis.
- Working in or evaluating investments in developing countries.
- Developing projects in critical sectors such as land use, energy, and agriculture.
- Managing multiple projects independently under tight deadlines in a complex environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- International experience, particularly in Southeast Asia, Africa, and/or Brazil.
- Exposure to forest, agriculture, and land use finance.
- Experience with development finance institutions or similar global investment bodies.
- In-depth knowledge of development finance operations and emerging market business conditions.
