We are hiring for an experienced Water Utility Maintenance Technician with an active/current Florida Distribution License
The purpose of this position is to perform troubleshooting, predictive, preventive and corrective maintenance for all equipment used in the treatment, collection and distribution of water, wastewater and reclaimed water. Equipment includes, but is not limited to, electrical components, pipes, pumps, motors, treatment systems, generators, valves, meters and related support systems and equipment. This position will require shifts to be worked in the evenings, weekends and on holidays.
Responsibility includes:
- Operating and maintaining lift stations
- Monitoring and controlling Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems
- Monitoring emergency bypass pumping
- Cleaning, calibrating, adjusting, and maintaining chemical feed systems
- Accurately collect and record customer meter readings
- Operating and maintaining overhead cranes
- Understanding TCU specifications and perform inspections
- Collecting and processing a variety of samples
- Maintaining the distribution log book per the regulatory requirements
- Data reporting, assembly, evaluation, and archiving
- Facility housekeeping in connection with maintenance of building and grounds
- Electrical, mechanical and plumbing troubleshooting and repair
- Equipment predictive, preventive and corrective maintenance as required
- Install and repair utility services and perform restorations as needed to the satisfaction of the customer
- Read customer meters and perform turn on and turn offs
- Exercise valves perform and document fire hydrant maintenance and manhole inspections
- Regular in person timely attendance is required
- Accurately read and record meter and gauge data
- Implement all safety procedures and protocols including, but not limited to wearing PPE
- Uses MS Word and Excel
- Perform locates
- Install and repair utility services and perform restorations as needed to the satisfaction of the customer Position requires the employee to be on-call as scheduled, meaning available to respond to utility anomalies and emergencies 24/7 and may be required to work weekends, holidays and as well as day, evening and night shifts as determined by the Utility Director
- Other duties as assigned
