Music School Director

Bach To Rock Music School (“B2R”) is currently seeking a full-time School Director to take over management of it thriving Music school in Wyckoff, NJ. This person must have a passion for music and a desire to enhance students' lives through music education. The School Director must also be motivated by the challenge of growing the business via personal sales efforts and be able to motivate others to excel in sales as well. Finally, the School Director must be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment, while creating a culture where professional and friendly relations between teachers, students and parents are always maintained. Extensive training in all aspects of school operations, including sales, facilities management, hiring, scheduling, billing, etc., will be provided.

• BACH TO ROCK WYCKOFF IS NOT YOUR AVERAGE MUSIC SCHOOL. We offer a vibrant program of private and group lessons, rock band (with dedicated rock band practice rooms), community gigs for our student bands, musical birthday parties, music camps, and other great ways for teachers to work with students. We've invested heavily in our own proprietary teaching programs. We've bought the rights to hundreds of rock songs (classic, alternative, you name it) and re-written them so that even beginners can play them. And, our state-of-the-art professional recording studio, control room and DJ learning center further set us apart. Our large, modern space is brand-new, in an excellent location with lots of walk-by traffic.

Bach to Rock provides its students a well-balanced music education. By teaching theory and technique using music that students know and love, B2R develops musicians of all ages who enjoy performing, recording in our studio, and even composing original music. B2R provides an opportunity to work in a fun yet professional environment with musicians.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide an engaging and fun music education experience for each student
• Manage and participate in all levels of sales and promotions to drive school growth
• Provide a top-quality customer service experience
• Manage staff performance and the school facility to provide a safe, fun, and enjoyable experience for all students and employees
• Plan, manage and oversee successful show/band/event production, providing students with inspirational performance opportunities
• Financial management of the school including but not limited to analyzing results, tracking budgets, time-tracking, and scheduling

Education and Experience

• Proven sales and customer-service experience in a retail or educational environment
• Experience with marketing and communications
• Experience with event planning preferred
• Must be a collaborator who works well across diverse populations and ages (pre-school through adult students)
• Strong work ethic
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred (i.e., business, management, music, etc.)

Skills

• Must be proficient in English speaking and writing skills; additional languages are desirable but not required
• Proficiency with MS Office
• Hands-on experience using time-tracking systems for reporting of hours and scheduling
• Basic financial/accounting/budgeting skills required

Physical Demands

• Must be able to lift and move equipment typically associated with B2R’s day-to-day operation, e.g., amplifiers, keyboards, recording equipment, light furniture, etc.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $54,000.00 per year
