What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cost Accountant position at Bachem?
A brief overview
As Cost Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in financial management and planning. You will oversee financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards. Your responsibilities will include collaborating closely with business partners to provide financial insights, support major investment projects, and facilitate decision-making. You will interface with the Director of Controlling, executives, project team members, cross-functional business partners, and the Controlling team. A deep understanding of how this function impacts the financial statements is essential.
What you will do
- Serve as Finance Business Partner for assigned areas
- Develop and monitor project budgets, creating regular cash forecasts, ensuring financial compliance
- Monitor project progress regarding schedule, resources, and costs of the assigned investment projects
- Provide regular updates on project status for key stakeholders, including executives and project team members
- Prepare financial analyses, KPIs, reports, and presentations for management, including Capex governance, financial information for monthly report, spending, labor tracking, production and production scrap, productivity, cycle counts, & inventory
- Act as point of contact for all financial matters in the assigned areas
- Regularly conduct cost and variance analyses, including initiating corrective actions
- Create / report ad-hoc analyses for the business
- Act as liaison for labor time tracking application(s)
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance related field
- 7-9 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of GAAP principles, concepts and practices
- High proficiency with MS office suite, with special focus on Excel & PowerPoint
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to function well in a team environment
- Ability to effectively organize, multitask, and work in a fast-paced, deadline driven work environment
- Ability to communicate in a proactive and solution-focused manner, including keeping management aware of potential issues
- Detail-oriented with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical and analytical problems
- Ability to work independently and manage one’s time
Base Salary Range: $71,120 - $98,820
Placement in this wage range is based on several factors, including education, skill set, experience, and training.
