Applications Engineer - Aftermarket
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Aftermarket (AM) Applications Engineer to drive business growth within the aftermarket segment for past and new Bachmann customers. This role focuses on expanding sales opportunities, strengthening customer relationships, and achieving revenue targets. As an integral member of our sales team, the AM Applications Engineer will work closely with the Aftermarket Sales Supervisor and VP of Sales to implement proactive outreach strategies, build relationships with new and existing customers, and ensure high customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Aftermarket Growth and Sales Development:
- Proactively identify, target, and develop business opportunities within the Aftermarket segment by reaching out to past Bachmann customers.
- Focus on revenue generation and expansion of market share in key industrial sectors for non-Bachmann customers that could utilize our Aftermarket solutions.
Customer Relationship Management:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers to ensure high customer satisfaction and retention.
- Act as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts or RFQs, providing solutions and consulting on customer needs.
Collaboration and Support:
- Collaborate with the Aftermarket Sales Supervisor and VP of Sales to align on sales strategy, and leverage technical and sales support resources as needed.
- Coordinate with sales agents and representatives within the territory to maximize territory coverage and business opportunities.
Reporting and Metrics:
- Track and report sales activities, progress, and performance metrics using CRM tools and regular reporting structures.
- Develop KPIs focused on lead generation, customer engagement, and revenue growth within the region.
Requirements
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in regional or territory sales within the industrial equipment marketplace.
- Proven experience as a results-oriented, highly motivated, and passionately driven leader in a technical sales environment.
- Experience in steel fabrication and international customer engagement is a plus.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Engineering, Business, or a related field is a plus.
Skills & Knowledge:
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand the function of various components and industrial equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings.
- Experience with technical sales and customer service.
- Ability to establish material cost estimates for budgeting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and CRM tools for tracking sales activities.
- Ability to work independently and manage a large geographic region effectively.
- Good understanding of ISO Quality Management systems.
