Position Overview: Reporting directly to the CFO, the Controller will be responsible for leading a dynamic finance team and overseeing the daily and monthly accounting operations of the Company and subsidiaries. This role involves ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, developing and maintaining internal controls, and supporting the financial health of the organization through effective accounting and cash management practices. The Controller plays a critical role in shaping the company’s financial strategy and ensuring overall financial health.

Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting & Risk Mitigation

• Preparation and submission of accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP and project revenue recognition principles
• Ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Ensure and monitor multi-state jurisdictional tax and legal compliance
• Analyze financial results, assess project schedules and risks, and recommend appropriate provisional actions to reduce risk and increase operational effectiveness
• Assist in the preparation of the annual audit and coordinate with external auditors

Accounting Operations

• Supervise the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and collections.
• Oversee financial performance of both divisional operations; reconcile intercompany transactions
• Develop and maintain financial accounting systems for efficient and accurate financial reporting.
• Direct treasury and cash management forecasting and operations
• Ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported.
• Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual closings and reconciliations.

Internal Controls and Process Improvement

• Develop and enforce internal control policies and procedures to ensure the integrity of financial reporting.
• Identify areas for process improvement and implement changes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure adherence to internal controls.
• Leverage analytical tools to streamline reporting processes and establish KPI development and dashboard creation to help drive and manage the business.

Team Leadership

• Build and lead a high-performing accounting team, promoting continuous improvement in the department’s operations and processes
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback, mentorship, and encourage and nurture personal growth development to team members.
• Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the accounting team and across departments according to Bachmann’s Leadership Principles

Strategic Financial Support

• Support senior management in strategic financial planning and analysis.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations based on analysis and projections
• Assist in special projects and initiatives as needed.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in a senior financial leadership role. The ideal candidate will have 5 years of financial leadership experience.
• Strong understanding of corporate finance, accounting principles, and regulatory requirements.
• Expertise in advanced Excel functions, using formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, and conditional formatting to analyze and manage data effectively.
• Excellent analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to communicate financial insights effectively.
• Leadership experience with a track record of building and managing high-performing teams.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; CPA or MBA is preferred.
