Summary :
Responsible for office management of the dental practice.
Skills and Education :
Experience in practice management
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Practice Management Program and the Internet
Self-directed and capable of working independently
Excellent communication skills
Ability to formulate letters
Strong motivational skills and ability to get along with others
Primary Duties :
Directs the activities and productivity of the entire practice.
Provides training and guidance for staff members.
Delegates duties to dental assistants, front desk assistants and hygienists.
Hires, trains, and terminates staff.
Conducts performance reviews.
Maintains employment files, personnel records and current handbook.
Create schedules and oversees employee schedules including requested time off.
Ensures cooperation and compliance with regulatory agencies including the dental board, OSHA, HIPAA, the department of labor, etc.
Works with the Practice Owner(s) to sustain and grow business.
Supports the practice’s strategic alliances and partnerships.
Manages administrative functions to ensure smooth and efficient operations of the organization.
Ensures performance goals are met and set.
Attends and presides over meetings.
Plans and implements the annual calendar of activities including trainings and team meetings.
Helps create budgets and track expenditures.
Practice Promotion :
Creates marketing strategies.
Serves as the liaison between the practice and the advertising agencies.
Financial Responsibilities :
Reviews corporate payables for each site for accuracy and approve for payment to payables team.
Reviews and maintains enterprise budget targets for variable overhead items (salaries & wages, dental supplies, dental labs, office supplies, etc.)
Cooperates with landlords and assures maintenance of each facility.
Implements segregation duties and internal controls in regard to collections management for each site.
Ensures daily deposits are posted and deposited at each practice in conjunction with each practice affiliate.
Conducts periodic internal control and cash receipts audits.
Managed Care & Billing :
Responsible for analyzing and directing the billing and insurance team on credentialing and reimbursement.
Ensures all managed care plans for affiliates are current and negotiated for maximum reimbursement potential.
Provides billing and coding training and audits any suspicious billing practices that are not in compliance with the law.

Physical Requirements :
The position requires good eye and hand coordination and manual dexterity. Job duties involve repetitive motion, awkward reaching and bending and lengthy periods of time spent sitting or standing. Employee may be lifting boxes to store and retrieve office and dental supplies. Vision requirements include the ability to detect minute details and distinguish colors and shades. Interaction with staff and patients requires superior communication skills. Must possess excellent coping skills and diffuse potentially stressful situations. Employee must possess a valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle. Employee must be available to travel including some overnight travel.
