Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Human Resources Assistant to support the HR department at our holding company, Backlund Investment Co, and it's two banks, Better Banks (Peoria, IL) & State Street Bank (Quincy, IL). The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting daily HR functions to include payroll, full-cycle recruiting & employment, personnel records, and benefits. This position is perfect for individuals looking to grow their career in human resources while utilizing their skills in processing of payroll.
Duties
- Process payroll for approximately 180 employees using Paylocity payroll software system; and responding to employee payroll, time & attendance inquiries.
- Manages full cycle recruiting efforts; posts position, prescreens, tests, assists in selection process
- Conducts employee onboarding and offboarding processes, and ensures all documentation is complete and accurate
- Establishes and maintains employee records in HR databases, ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Assists in the coordination, implementation, and management of employee benefits
- Responds to employee inquiries regarding HR policies, benefits, and procedures.
- Prepare reports as needed to assist management in decision-making processes.
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in HR & Payroll software, such as Paylocity
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact effectively with employees at all levels
- Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail
- Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially and professionally
- Previous experience in an HR or administrative role is required
