What are the responsibilities and job description for the Backyard Sports Pickleball Instructor position at Backyard Sports?
We are looking for experienced, enthusiastic and dependable pickleball instructors to lead beginner classes for both youth and adults. We are flexible with instructors who have limited availability with a typical class schedule ranging from 6-10 hours per week. Our current openings are in White Plains and Purchase, NY with a $50-75 per hour pay scale commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities:
- Plan age appropriate lesson plans
- Lead weekly classes
- Oversee programs to ensure safety and maximum engagement
- Encourage participants to build skills, confidence and have fun!
- Managing equipment (pick-up/drop-off and set-up/clean-up)
- Communicate regularly with BYS Program Directors
Skills
- *MUST BE 18 YEARS OR OLDER TO APPLY* - Lead Instructors will be considered with 2 years of relevant teaching experience. Playing experience is a plus.
- Expertise teaching across a wide range of ages and ability levels is preferred.
- Patience, punctuality and a positive/encouraging coaching style is a must.
- Strong organizational and communication skills are a must.
- Instructors should have a passion for community programs with patience and a desire to share pickleball with first-time/beginner players.
- First aid- and CPR-certified is also preferred. Background checks may also be required.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $50.00 - $75.00 per hour
Expected hours: 6 – 10 per week
