Job Summary:
The Material Handler/Forklift Driver is responsible for moving, organizing, and distributing materials throughout the production area to ensure a smooth and efficient manufacturing process. You will operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment to transport parts and finished products, helping to maintain inventory accuracy and ensuring that production deadlines are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to transport materials to and from production lines, storage areas, and shipping/receiving docks.
- Load and unload shipments, ensuring proper handling and organization of materials.
- Assist with inventory management, including tracking and labeling parts and materials.
- Ensure the material handling area is clean, organized, and in compliance with safety regulations.
- Work closely with production teams to ensure materials are available when needed for assembly and manufacturing.
- Perform regular checks on forklifts and material handling equipment to ensure they are in good working condition.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to supervisors immediately.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies, maintaining a safe work environment.
- Assist with other duties as needed to support the production process.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift certification or the ability to obtain certification.
- Previous experience as a material handler or forklift driver in a manufacturing or warehouse environment is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of inventory management and material handling.
- Ability to safely operate a forklift and other material handling equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
