Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing payroll processes, ensuring compliance with governmental regulations, and maintaining accurate financial records. This position requires strong knowledge of payroll systems, accounting principles, and human resources practices. The Payroll Administrator will work closely with various departments to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing.

Responsibilities

  • Process payroll for all employees accurately and on time using systems called Paylocity, Syteline
  • Maintain employee records related to payroll, including tax information, deductions, and benefits.
  • Prepare journal entries related to payroll transactions and ensure proper accounting for debits and credits.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and tax laws.
  • Assist in the preparation of month end financials.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues and provide guidance on payroll policies.
  • Collaborate with the HR department to ensure accurate employee data management related to payroll processing.
  • Conduct regular audits of payroll data to identify discrepancies or errors and implement corrective actions as necessary.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in payroll administration or a similar role within human resources or accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll systems such as Ceridian, ADP, or Workday is preferred.
  • Familiarity with governmental accounting practices and tax regulations is highly desirable.
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical skills for managing complex data sets.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially and maintain discretion at all times.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and other relevant software applications.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field is preferred but not required.
