BAE Systems is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join our team located at Fort Belvoir, Virginia supporting Enterprise Cloud Management Agency (ECMA) efforts to implement the architecture, required services, and facilitate Army adoption of the DoD Cloud services under the Armys Cloud Enterprise Technology Services (CETS) contract. The CETS program provides Information Technology services and technical subject matter expertise (SME) to support overall strategy and migration to the Army cloud (cARMY) environment that currently includes Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure clouds at IL 2, 4, 5 and 6.
The successful candidate performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, evaluates alternatives including cost, risk, supportability and analyses for total systems. Supports platform engineering, systems architecture, security engineering, and analysis support to cloud transition and modernization efforts. Designs, develops, and leverages automation across all facets of cARMY to minimize the amount of manual labor involved in provisioning, developing, deploying, and program maintenance to the greatest extent possible. In addition, maintains parity of each CSP with the Army mandated baseline in. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of product requirements into total systems solutions. Translates customer requirements into hardware / software specifications. Direct people-management responsibility is required.
- Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- BS degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics; fifteen years of experience designing and implementing information management systems may substitute for academic degree.
- Ten years experience designing and implementing information management systems.
- Three years within the past five years of experience in product development, requirements generation, and testing methodologies, including direct control and responsibility over subordinate engineers working requirements, design, implementation, and testing of distributed cloud applications and services.
- Three years within the past five years of experience in development, implementation, and administration of multi-tenant, enterprise web-based solutions using automated processes and tools to perform system availability and integrity monitoring, validate security and configuration compliance, and ensure sensitive data protection.
- Three years within the past five years of experience with commercial cloud service providers engineering solutions in a Linux and Windows multi-tenant environment on commercial cloud services (Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure, and / or if needed for the new CSPs).
- DoDM 8140.03 (former DoD 8570.01-M) IAT Level II certified (e.g. CCNA-Security, CySA , GICSP, GSEC, Security CE, CND, or SSCP) within 6 months of taking position.

Full-Time Salary Range : $140690 - $239140
