This internship is for May – August 2025. In this position, you will be supporting the Combat Mission Systems (CMS) Business at our York, PA facility. Relocation will not be offered.
As a Welding Engineering Intern, you will:
- Support Weld Engineering and Manufacturing Operations in a team-based environment, spending time on shop floor working with vehicle design, manufacturing processes and vehicle production.
- Provide technical support to engineers troubleshooting various fabrication issues.
- Analyze and interpret design specifications, drawings, documentation, models, and/or test results to ensure technical designs comply with applicable engineering standards, military specifications, and product requirements
- Acquire welder qualifications and participate in welder training.
- Assists with welding procedure qualification.
- Participate in weld process development initiatives.
- Assists on Safety initiatives (including investigation and RCCA).
- Participate Weld code negotiations.
- Obtain training and assist with Lincoln Weld Control Software.
- Exposure to mechanized and robotic equipment.
- Obtain training and assist on weld equipment maintenance/troubleshooting.
- Support Supplier weld procedure submittal process.
- Support weld quality RCCA activities.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelors Degree program pursuing a degree in Welding Engineering or related fields.
- Willing to work in a hands-on environment, working with shop employees
- Can work independently with minimal guidance
- Effective communication skills
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- Experience interpreting technical drawings and specifications
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $41818 - $56444
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
Temporary employees generally are not eligible for BAE Systems benefits, but can elect to participate in the 401(k) savings plan. Temporary employees working 20 hours per week are eligible for medical benefits, the employee assistance program, and business travel accident insurance.
