Baer is looking for Enterprise Monitoring Technical Support Specialist for a 6-month Federal Remote Project.

Description

• Provide ongoing technical support and maintenance for production and development systems, ensuring proper functioning of all configured services across a variety of platforms (both remote and onsite).
• Utilize Enterprise Systems Monitoring Tools to monitor system performance, health, and availability. Investigate and resolve issues using monitoring data.
• Implement and manage technology at the operating system level across servers and networks, providing hardware/software support and resolving issues for various software solutions/vendors.
• Perform L1 and L2 troubleshooting to identify, resolve, and escalate issues as necessary. Handle basic and intermediate-level technical issues related to Unix, SQL, and Splunk.
• Coordinate and manage the identification, investigation, and resolution of issues related to system performance or functionality, ensuring minimal system downtime and disruptions.
• Use Splunk and SQL to query, analyze, and report on data from various systems. Implement and refine monitoring processes and techniques to improve system uptime.
• Support the ongoing OS patching and maintenance of systems to ensure security and performance standards are met.
• Maintain clear and accurate documentation for processes, system configurations, and troubleshooting steps. Provide regular reports on system performance and issues.
• Provide support for the production environment, ensuring monitoring tools are in place and performance is aligned with business requirements.

Requirements

• Experience working with enterprise systems monitoring tools, understanding their configuration and usage to monitor system health and performance.
• Proficient in managing and troubleshooting Unix-based systems.
• Experience with Splunk for log aggregation, monitoring, and data analysis.
• Intermediate experience in identifying, investigating, and resolving system issues in a timely manner.
• Ability to write and run SQL queries to retrieve, manipulate, and analyze data from relational databases.
• Knowledge of various monitoring tools and techniques to ensure optimal system performance.
• Experience with service management practices in desktop and remote technology support.
• Knowledge of production support and scheduling processes to ensure smooth operations.
• Bachelor’s Degree OR 4 years of relevant work experience in enterprise system support and monitoring.

Public Trust Security Clearance is the lowest level of additional background screening that the federal government requires for applicants of certain jobs, which includes completing a Standard Form 85 (SF85) form.
