Description
- Provide ongoing technical support and maintenance for production and development systems, ensuring proper functioning of all configured services across a variety of platforms (both remote and onsite).
- Utilize Enterprise Systems Monitoring Tools to monitor system performance, health, and availability. Investigate and resolve issues using monitoring data.
- Implement and manage technology at the operating system level across servers and networks, providing hardware/software support and resolving issues for various software solutions/vendors.
- Perform L1 and L2 troubleshooting to identify, resolve, and escalate issues as necessary. Handle basic and intermediate-level technical issues related to Unix, SQL, and Splunk.
- Coordinate and manage the identification, investigation, and resolution of issues related to system performance or functionality, ensuring minimal system downtime and disruptions.
- Use Splunk and SQL to query, analyze, and report on data from various systems. Implement and refine monitoring processes and techniques to improve system uptime.
- Support the ongoing OS patching and maintenance of systems to ensure security and performance standards are met.
- Maintain clear and accurate documentation for processes, system configurations, and troubleshooting steps. Provide regular reports on system performance and issues.
- Provide support for the production environment, ensuring monitoring tools are in place and performance is aligned with business requirements.
Requirements
- Experience working with enterprise systems monitoring tools, understanding their configuration and usage to monitor system health and performance.
- Proficient in managing and troubleshooting Unix-based systems.
- Experience with Splunk for log aggregation, monitoring, and data analysis.
- Intermediate experience in identifying, investigating, and resolving system issues in a timely manner.
- Ability to write and run SQL queries to retrieve, manipulate, and analyze data from relational databases.
- Knowledge of various monitoring tools and techniques to ensure optimal system performance.
- Experience with service management practices in desktop and remote technology support.
- Knowledge of production support and scheduling processes to ensure smooth operations.
- Bachelor’s Degree OR 4 years of relevant work experience in enterprise system support and monitoring.
