The Role of a Lead Professional Educator Designation Pathway Cohort Member
This position empowers educators through a comprehensive curriculum focused on enhancing instructional competence and fostering mentorship. Participants will gain evidence-based strategies and advanced content knowledge, equipping them to implement best practices effectively.
With an emphasis on data-driven decision-making, educators will learn to analyze student data to refine instructional practices, ensuring improved outcomes for all learners. The program cultivates a culture of mentorship, encouraging peer coaching and collaboration.
Candidates will champion inclusivity, advocating for diverse learning needs while committing to lifelong growth and reflective practice.

To thrive as a participant in this pathway, candidates should possess robust mentorship, analytical, and observational skills. Successful participants will be adept at mentoring colleagues, providing constructive feedback, and supporting professional growth through reflective journaling and ongoing check-ins.
Cohort members must be committed to continuous instructional improvement and collaborative growth within their schools. Expectations include:
Mentoring at least one colleague within their school.
Completing a capstone project tailored to an instructional challenge or school improvement goal.
Conducting classroom observations with a focus on providing constructive feedback and supporting their peers.
Requirements
Arkansas educators wishing to apply for this pathway must meet the following requirements:
- Documentation of three (3) years of licensed teaching experience.
- Evidence of an effective or highly effective rating on TESS on the applicant's most recent summative evaluation conducted within the previous 4 years.
