What does An Arkansas Professional Leader Educator- Bailey Group Pathway Cohort Member do?
The Lead Professional Educator Designation Pathway is designed to empower educators through a comprehensive curriculum focused on enhancing instructional competence and fostering mentorship. This position is an appointment to a cohort and is not a paid position, yet it offers a transformative experience for those eager to lead by example in the classroom. Are you the Arkansas Professional Leader Educator- Bailey Group Pathway Cohort Member we're looking for?
To thrive as a participant in Bailey Education Group's Lead Professional Educator Designation pathway, candidates should possess robust mentorship, analytical, and observational skills. Successful participants will be adept at mentoring colleagues, providing constructive feedback, and supporting professional growth through reflective journaling and ongoing check-ins. In addition to strengthening these interpersonal skills, candidates will also complete a capstone project that addresses specific instructional challenges. Conducting classroom observations to give actionable feedback will further hone each participant's leadership skills, fostering trust and rapport among peers.
Applicants must have a minimum of three years of licensed teaching experience and demonstrate effectiveness through prior evaluations. Cohort members must be committed to continuous instructional improvement and collaborative growth within their schools.
Expectations for the Cohort Members include:
1. Mentor at least one colleague within their school. Through reflective journaling and periodic check-ins, cohort members document their progress, receive feedback, and refine their skills.
2. Complete a capstone project tailored to an instructional challenge or school improvement goal. This project, conducted within the candidate's school environment, ensures their learning is directly relevant and impactful.
3. Conduct classroom observations with a focus on providing constructive feedback and supporting their peers.
Pathway Application Requirements:
Arkansas educators wishing to apply for the Professional Lead Educator Pathway through Bailey Education Group must meet the following requirements:
- Documentation of three (3) years of licensed teaching experience. This experience may include time spent teaching with a provisional license but the teacher must have a standard Arkansas teaching license to be eligible.
- Evidence of an effective or highly effective rating on TESS on the applicant's most recent summative evaluation conducted within the previous 4 years.
