W.F. Baird & Associates “Baird” is seeking a motivated and personable engineering student to join our team as a Coastal Engineering Intern for Summer 2025. The selected candidate will be involved with various design and construction aspects associated with marine, coastal, and waterfront engineering projects. This position will support multiple offices worldwide.

Job Description
Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Working under supervising professional engineers, the candidate will support all Baird global offices by:
- Participating in field data collection
- Performing engineering analyses and design of coastal and marine structures
- Assisting with the preparation of project deliverables including technical reports, calculations, cost estimates, specifications and drawings
- Assisting with the construction administration tasks for projects currently being constructed

Qualifications
Qualifications & Experience:
- Required:
- Junior, Senior or Graduate student standing in an ABET accredited engineering program
- Specializing in water resources, coastal, civil, structural, geological or geotechnical engineering
- Preferred:
- Ability to continue working part-time hours into the fall of 2025
- Previous intern experience with an engineering consulting firm
- Working knowledge of and experience with AutoCAD
- Experience with or willingness to learn GIS software
- Experience with or willingness to learn programming with MATLAB and/or Python
