As part of the Baird Family Wealth team, the Consultant serves as client-facing, broad-based wealth specialist to assist Family Wealth leaders and advisors in revenue generating activities with their largest and most complex clients and prospects. Must have an awareness advising individuals with business transition planning, advanced estate planning and wealth transfer techniques, tax planning, executive compensation, philanthropic planning and other advanced planning topics. Must be able to work as part of a team that is geographically diverse, supporting team initiatives while often working independently. Strong verbal and written communication skills required. Activities and duties require a high level of organization and expertise.

As a Baird Family Wealth Consultant, You Will
Bachelor’s degree plus advanced certification such as CFP®, CPA, CPWA, JD and/or master’s degree preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of experience working in the wealth management industry or with ultra-high net worth clients.
Familiarity with advanced tax and wealth transfer techniques preferred.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Strong computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. In particular, experience creating & presenting client analyses in Excel and PowerPoint.
Ability to balance multiple projects and work under strict – and sometimes short – deadlines.
Strong Organizational Skills And Ability To Prioritize Projects Required.
Strong desire for continued education efforts, both as a presenter and learner.
Ability to work independently on projects and effectively relate and collaborate with others in order to accomplish work responsibilities and objectives.
Strong writing and speaking skills.
Ability to act as a team player, assisting others in the department when necessary.

As a Baird Family Wealth Consultant, You Will
- Support advisors as they work with their top clients and prospects to deepen existing relationships and engage with prospects.
- Partner with other Baird Financial Advisors (FAs) to assist with clients and prospects going through major life events that create opportunities of at least $10 million from money in motion.
- Support Directors of Baird Family Wealth Assist advisors in all steps of the sales process and client meetings, including discovery sessions, plan creation and presentation, implementation and follow-up.
- Attend in-person and/or virtual meetings with advisors and clients in locations around the country. Role in those meetings will range from supporting the advisors to driving the agenda and leading the discussion, based on expertise of the advisor.
- Collaborate with other professionals supporting the client, such as their CPA or attorney. Develop relationships with these professionals so they can serve as referrals for other clients and provide referrals to Baird. Provide deeper assistance to a client’s CPA or attorney when issues are outside of their routine experience.
- Serve as facilitator and collaborate with other subject matter experts at Baird to develop optimal client strategies.
- Have an awareness of the products and services offered throughout Baird and be able to work with representatives from different departments within Baird.
- Recognize when to involve other specialists within the firm in a particular situation, including those in lending, insurance, retirement plans, education planning, executive compensation, global investment banking, Baird Capital, Business Owner Solutions, Baird Trust, etc.
- Assist other members of the planning team including our wealth strategists in plan construction as needed or building strategy visuals.
- Expectation of regular travel, up to 50-75% required (typically Tues-Thurs).
