Company Description: Baisch & Skinner is a wholesale floral distributor based in St. Louis, MO with seven branch store locations throughout the Midwest. Importers of fresh cut flowers, permanent botanicals, decoratives, glassware, plants and floral supplies, Baisch & Skinner is a business-to-business distributor that serves the floral, design, and hospitality industries.
Responsibilities:
· Assist and invoice walk in customers as needed.
· Oversee plant care by monitoring watering and spacing needs.
· Monitor plant inventory and advise Greenhouse Supervisor of inventory issues.
· Manage plant inventory by keeping benches and staging areas straight and organized.
· Manage receiving plant shipments by unloading vehicles; accepting deliveries; unpacking containers.
· Assist Greenhouse Supervisor in verifying items received by inspecting condition of items; comparing count/measure of items to purchase order and packing list; noting discrepancies.
· Assist in staging incoming plants after unloading and check in process is complete.
· Daily communication with Greenhouse Supervisor to assess incoming shipments, transfer requests pending fulfillment and subsequent staffing requirements.
· Verify that transfer requests are received by locations in a timely manner.
· Assist and coordinate pulling and processing of daily transfer requests from all locations.
· Assist in preparing shipments by assembling, packing, protecting, and labeling containers.
· Maintains shipping and receiving materials by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed materials; placing and expediting orders for materials; verifying receipt of materials.
· Maintain grounds, keep greenhouse neat and orderly and help identify maintenance requirements of properties as needed.
· Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
· High school or equivalent degree
· One year of experience in shipping and receiving desired
· Highly motivated self-starter that is capable of multi-tasking
· Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and using the internet
· Must be detail oriented and organized
· Ability to pass a Background check, Pre-employment drug screen
· Ability to lift up to least 60 lbs
· Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, push, pull, and move about the facility
