Job Summary/Objective
The Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of facility operations including: production scheduling, manufacturing, maintenance, warehousing, logistics, and transportation, with dotted-line association with site EH&S, food safety & quality assurance, R&D, and the general business practices and needs. This role ensures the safety and development of all site associates, the efficient production of high-quality products, and the optimal utilization of materials and assets. The Plant/Operations Manager will lead continuous improvement initiatives to meet safety, quality, cost, and service goals.
Essential Functions

Oversight of Facility Operations
- Lead all production aspects, including planning, staffing, production, and collaboration with maintenance.
- Manage internal warehousing, logistics, and transportation needs to ensure raw materials, packaging, and finished goods are in the right place at the right time.
- Manage onsite maintenance team. Coordinate with corporate and site Engineering and Maintenance functions for long-term planning and improvement opportunities.
- Ensure consistent execution of systems and processes for safe, high-quality production and superior customer experience.
- Develop and implement technical skill enhancement for manufacturing associates to improve throughput and reduce waste.
- Motivate associates to adopt, embrace, and identify improvement opportunities.
- Set performance targets with the Vice President of Operations.
- Identify, recommend, and execute Continuous Improvement projects to enhance safety, quality, productivity, and cost efficiency.
- Set clear expectation and guidelines for new products, new equipment, or similar initiatives to ensure all operational standards are achieved.
- Implement and monitor metrics, SOPs, and KPIs for production and efficiency standards.

Plant Safety and Quality
- Manage inventory and product loss control to maintain quality standards.
- Collaborate with EHS and FSQA leadership to ensure compliance with safety, SQF, Food Defense, GMPs, and allergen protocols.
- Ensure adherence to company, state, and federal safety and quality regulations.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.

- Lead the preparation of site operating budgets.
- Implement cost control measures and manage costs.

- Work with JD Edwards ERP system on work orders, inventory, and related functions.

- Primarily a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, temperature variations, and machinery

Required Education & Experience
- 10 years of management experience in food or beverage manufacturing
- General Training and Knowledge of GMP, allergen handling, wash down procedures, food defense, and HACCP
- Prior experience managing Maintenance and Warehouse functions
Preferred Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related field
- Advanced degree in a related field
- Bilingual in Spanish
- Experience with continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma)
