Math Interventionist - Junior High
Location: James H. Baker Sixth Grade Campus
Provide high-level instructional support for the school community, including students, teachers and parents. Implement research-based strategies to enable students to develop competencies and skills in the assigned grade level and content area.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university
- Valid Texas Teacher's Certificate in subject area assigned
- Understanding of scientifically-based research and evidence-based practices for teaching and assessing student progress toward achievement of benchmarks
- General knowledge of curriculum and instruction, including knowledge of content TEKS and STARR
- Experience working with small groups of students to improve skills in assigned content area preferred
- Experience working with at-risk students within RTI framework preferred
Responsibilities
- Work with small groups of students intervening to improve skills in the core content area(s) as identified by the campus principal
- Establish positive rapport with students and work closely with classroom teachers
- Use appropriate core and supplemental early intervention materials that align with district and state curriculum and provide Tier II and III support
- Know how to use and implement a range of effective strategies and analyze instruction
- Report on student progress to the classroom teacher of record and campus administration
- Gather and assist in analyzing data
- Work cooperatively with special education teachers to modify curricula as needed for special education students according to guidelines established by Individual Education Plans (IEP)
- Work with the campus staff to select instructional materials to meet individual student needs
- Create an atmosphere of trust and collaboration among staff to promote professional growth and accelerate struggling students

- $61,000 for Beginning teacher with "0" years experience (Based on the 2024-2025 Compensation Plan)
- $1,000 Master's Degree addenda
- Additional $1,000 Doctorate Degree addenda
