- What You’ll Do/ A Day In The Life Typically Includes
Performs the necessary functions regarding; claims investigation, auditing carrier invoices, freight pay, accounting accruals, and freight recovery. Responsible for maintaining organized files and reporting discrepancies or opportunities for the cost savings to the Manager of Transportation.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities (The following statements describe the general nature of work being performed in this job. They are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties. Additional responsibilities may be assigned by management):
- Audit freight bills and protect from overcharges. Assure all discounts are properly applied and all rebates are received based upon the carrier agreement.
- Work with carriers on invoice disputes and ensure that all invoices on statements have been received and properly cleared by the carriers if paid.
- Works with carriers and customer/vendor requirements teams on updating delivery addresses.
- Maintain manual data inputs for the Freight App in MPC.
- Provide accounting with actual transportation expenses at month end.
- Provides cost savings opportunities or suggestions to the Manager of Transportation
- Ensures proper routing and method of freight payment
- Maintains organized files

Work Environment
This position is based on site in an office setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to sit at a desk using a computer monitor for much of the duration of the shift, except for assigned breaks and standing or walking, as the job requires. Must frequently use hands and fingers, talk, and occasionally must lift/move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision requirements include close vision.

Job Qualifications
Required Skills & Experience
- High school graduate plus some additional vocational/technical training and three to five years’ experience.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Access, Excel, Word, etc.)
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, carriers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community and effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
