JOB SUMMARY

The Maintenance Supervisor plays a crucial role in our organization by providing leadership and support to maintenance team leaders and members. This involves training and mentoring in essential leadership skills, as well as ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures. As a hands-on leader and problem-solver, the Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for achieving all Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). The successful candidate will ensure that all equipment and machinery are operating at peak performance to support our production goals and uphold our commitment to quality and safety.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Assists team members in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment through observations and applied knowledge.

2. Reviews job orders to determine work priorities. Schedules repairs, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment to ensure continuous production operations.

3. Leads the response to emergency maintenance issues to ensure safety and minimize downtime.

4. Coaches team leaders to understand and share company goals and KPIs, as well as how to achieve them.

5. Ensures all policies, procedures, and regulations are followed to produce a safe, high-quality, and legal product.

6. Motivates team members to accept and support change.

7. Enhances personal knowledge and skills through educational opportunities.

8. Participates in the evaluation process of team leaders and team members.

9. Performs the team leader’s tasks in their absence.

10. Accepts work assignments from the Maintenance Manager and Vice President of Operations.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, CHARACTERISTICS

  • High School Diploma required, Vocational college degree in Welding, Electrical, Mechanics, or a related field preferred.
  • A minimum of three years of Maintenance leadership required; five or more years of relevant Maintenance leadership in manufacturing preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs), and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) policies, with the ability to apply these principles to ensure team and food safety.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and other software programs such as Redzone and Somax.
  • Strong technical expertise in equipment used within the organization.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously to ensure efficient and effective task completion.
  • Exceptional soft skills, including tact, self-awareness, motivation, empathy, and the willingness to consider other viewpoints and compromise when necessary.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality when handling sensitive management and confidential information.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills demonstrated at various organizational levels.
  • Proactive and self-motivated with a track record of successful project accomplishments.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts and hours to guide team members and support successful company initiatives.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

1. Ability to lift 20 pounds continuously and occasionally lift 52 pounds.

2. Ability to stand on feet for the entire work shift

3. Ability to work in various environments, including intense noise, cold, heat, and moisture.

4. Bending, stooping, walking, reaching, grasping, carrying, repetitive motions, and visual skills are required on a constant basis.

KEY RESULTS AREAS

1. Develop and Strengthen Team Infrastructure

a. Mentor and provide ongoing training to team leaders and members to enhance their skills and competencies.

b. Collaborate with Human Resources in the recruitment and hiring process of team members.

c. Conduct quarterly one-on-one meetings with team leaders and weekday team members to assess performance and provide guidance.

d. Hold accountability for the output and success of team leaders.

e. Ensure the effective utilization of the Coach to Success program by providing timely follow-up and support.

f. Participates in required educational opportunities such as Dale Carnegie training, Food Safety Essentials, the Leadership Journey, AIB Science of Baking, and other educational programs as new training becomes available.

b. PM’s (preventive maintenance)

c. UP (un-planned maintenance hours)

e. Parts Inventory Accuracy

f. On-Time Preventative Maintenance

3. Daily Performance

  • Assign specific maintenance tasks to technicians based on current priorities.
  • Ensure the timely completion of preventive maintenance checks.
  • Respond to urgent repair needs, such as equipment breakdowns or system failures, working with technicians to diagnose and resolve issues.
  • Maintain accurate records and logs for repairs, preventive maintenance, and equipment performance.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to team members on maintenance tasks as needed.

4. Conflict Resolution

a. Addresses employee concerns and resolves issues with the assistance of Human Resources and the Maintenance Manager.

b. Issues Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs) as necessary, with support from the Maintenance Manager and Human Resources.

Pay: $40.00 - $46.36 per hour
