Roles & Responsibilities: The Project Scheduler/Planner will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and analyzing project schedules to ensure timely and cost-effective completion of heavy industrial power projects. This position requires expertise in project scheduling concepts, scheduling software, resource management, and earned value analysis. The successful candidate will collaborate with multiple discipline areas and contractors to develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules, mitigate scheduling conflicts, and report project status to leadership and clients.
Specific Duties: · Develop and manage detailed project schedules using Oracle P6. · Organize and structure Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) to align with project requirements. · Create summary and detailed schedules covering all project phases (engineering, procurement, and construction. · Ensure logical sequencing of project activities and major critical paths. · Integrate multiple project schedules to ensure alignment across disciplines. · Interpret engineering documents, including contracts, scope of work documents, General Arrangement drawings, bill of materials, and project estimates. · Identify potential scope changes and communicate their impact to project leadership. · Support work sessions and meetings with project team members to refine scheduling strategies. · Apply Critical Path Method (CPM) techniques to maintain an optimized project timeline. · Identify and incorporate constraints such as time, resources, outages, permits, and inspections. · Propose alternative planning scenarios to minimize scheduling impacts. · Estimate activity durations based on historical project data and industry standards. · Load and levelize resources within project constraints.
