In this position you will be expected to develop, plan, prepare, implement, monitor, and evaluate quality competency-based CTE (Career and Technical Education) programs leading to the development of student skills sufficient to qualify for entry-level employment and/or post-secondary education using effective instruction with all students. You will also be expected to establish and maintain high expectations and promote a culture of achievement and student learning.

Education/Certification:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required
Master’s degree preferred
Valid Louisiana teaching certificate required

PROGRAM PLANNING
The Arts,A/VTechnology, and Communication Teaching position will prepare students to organize and manage various visual aspects of data, visual arts, performing arts, and entertainment media industries. Coursework should equip students to work with animation, interactive technology, video graphics, data visualization, and special effects. Course work includes traditional fine arts media, modern media art theory, color theory, composition and perspective, equipment maintenance, studio management, and art portfolio marketing. The program should also encompass instructional support in identifying careers in augmented and virtual reality. Virtual reality is a computer-generated simulation of reality whereas augmented reality layers computer-generated images onto the real world.

INSTRUCTIONAL ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES FOR CTE EDUCATOR
CTE Program Development & Implementation
- Design and implement a Career and Technical Education (CTE) program at CoBSS High School that contributes to improving the overall School Performance Score (SPS).
- Monitor program effectiveness and adjust strategies to ensure continued positive impact on SPS.
Instruction & Student Achievement
- Serve as the teacher of record for CTE students, delivering daily instruction (Monday–Friday) in business and technology courses.
- Demonstrate subject-matter expertise while setting high expectations and utilizing effective teaching practices.
Data-Driven Instruction & Assessment
- Use multiple student data elements to assess progress, modify instruction, and improve student learning outcomes.
- Maintain accurate student records, including CTE program completers, and grading.
Family & Community Engagement
- Communicate and collaborate with parents, industry partners, and the school community to support student growth and engagement.
- Develop and maintain community and industry partnerships to enhance career-readiness opportunities.
Professional Collaboration & Development

PROFESSIONALISM:
- Informs appropriate school personnel of modifications/accommodations needed for individual students. Uses grammatically correct written and spoken language.
- Implements and follows an Individual Education Plan (IEP), as mandated by IDEA.
- Follows the time and/or duty schedule authorized by the school principal for the school day and extracurricular activities.
- Notifies the principal promptly in case of absence, and communicates in advance the date of return so that proper provisions can be made for hiring substitute teacher.
- Maintains neat, accurate, current and complete records and reports and submits same on time to the appropriate personnel when requested.
- Informs principal when a student is absent three consecutive days or five days overall.
- Effectively communicates student progress to parents according to Pupil Progression Plan Prepares and devises a specific number of instructional minutes for each individual child as needed and indicated in the child's IEP.
