Baker McKenzie seeks an associate attorney to remain current on issues of international and commercial trade compliance law. The ideal candidate will draft memoranda, legal opinions, and other client-related documents. They will advise on cross-border banking and finance projects, liaise with the Firm's clients regarding complex cross-border transactions and projects, and conduct research on specific legal issues, especially those applicable to our international clients in the area of expertise. The candidate will also consult with our U.S. and international clients, principals, associates, and staff.
The position is in the Firm's Washington, DC office. Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., accounting, finance, business) and a J.D. or foreign equivalent. They must also have two months of full-time compensated employment experience focused on U.S. and international tax projects at a law firm with more than 150 attorneys. Must be admitted and a member in good standing of the District of Columbia Bar or be eligible to waive into the District of Columbia Bar to apply.
This position is bonus eligible and includes medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) benefits based on the number of hours worked. The U.S. base compensation for this position is expected to be $260 - 420K annually when located in an office in Washington, DC. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
