POSITION INFORMATION

• Baker School District is currently seeking candidates for a Temporary Seasonal position of Grounds Maintenance.
• Duration: April 1, 2025 through September 30, 2025.

Preference will be given to previous Summer Programming or Friday Programming staff.

POSITION OVERVIEW

• Under general direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, the Grounds Maintenance position will perform the upkeep, cleanliness, and improvement of all district-owned grounds and athletic facilities and fields, and grounds equipment to ensure that students and staff are provided a safe and presentable environment in which to learn and compete.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform grounds keeping duties such as planting, watering, sodding, spraying, pruning, mulching, weeding, edging, tree trimming, mowing, and cleaning of grounds.
• Operate and maintain lawn mowers, including large area turf mowers, and sweepers and other power equipment used in grounds work (sprayers, pruners, and trimmers) to ensure they work effectively and safely.
• Assist head custodians, work crews and other persons responsible for grounds at all schools.
• Repair irrigation systems and grounds equipment.
• Operates district vehicles to transport lawn debris etc. to the landfill.
• Maintains safe environments for both public use and work areas.
• Attends work regularly and is punctual.
• Other duties may be assigned as needed.

HOURLY WAGE

• Copy of the Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty (DD Form 214 or 215).
• OR Proof of receiving a non-service connected pension from the US Dept. of Veteran’s Affairs.
• Disabled veterans must also submit a copy of their Veterans disability preference letter.
