Our Marketing department has an excellent opportunity for a Public Relations Coordinator in all office locations (except New York and Denver). This is an exempt position that reports to the Senior Communications Manager. The PR Coordinator will work closely with the Senior Communications Manager and PR Specialist to implement and deliver firmwide media relations activities that help position BakerHostetler as a marketplace leader in the legal industry and showcase the Firm’s attorneys as preeminent thought leaders. The successful candidate will be a team player who has an eye for detail and is comfortable working both tactically and strategically to produce high-value results that help grow, shape, and maintain the BakerHostetler brand.

Responsibilities
- Monitor and track all aspects of news relating to the Firm and its attorneys.
- Create and disseminate coverage sharing emails and produce media coverage reports, including firmwide weekly media highlights email.
- Develop, write, edit and proofread all attorney biographies.
- Proactively maintain accuracy and completeness of biographies on website.
- Stay abreast of Firm practice group priorities and activities, as well as news and current events related to the Firm, such as victories, deal announcements, industry awards or rankings, and update biographies accordingly.
- Ensure consistency of biographic information across all Firm communication platforms.
- Provide general public relations assistance as needed, including preparation and distribution of press releases, media pitches, deal announcements, etc.
- Assist with the preparation of regularly-distributed PR measurement reports.
- Research and update targeted media lists and manage media databases (e.g., Cision, Meltwater, etc.).
- Tracking and completing other special projects as needed.
- Other duties as requested and assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Journalism or Marketing along with a minimum of 2 years of experience in the legal industry, professional services industry or at an agency.
- Demonstrated experience in preparing public relations materials including drafting and disseminating press releases, creating briefing materials and developing coverage reports.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint. Proven aptitude to learn new software applications.
- Strong analytical and communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to communicate effectively and respond to common inquiries or complaints from all levels of professional and support staff, clients, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Interpersonal communication skills necessary to maintain effective relationships with partners, attorneys, clients, and staff, and to exhibit a high degree of responsiveness, diplomacy, and professionalism in these interactions.
- Demonstrated ability to manage time well while independently completing assigned tasks with extreme attention to detail. Display strong organization skills needed to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines. Outstanding creativity; flexibility and persistence; motivation and energy with the ability to collaborate with other members of the team.
