Balch & Bingham LLP is currently seeking a recruiting coordinator to join the firm in our Birmingham, AL, office. Under the direction of the chief diversity & inclusion officer and director of talent management, this position will plan and facilitate all non-partner recruiting functions for the firm with a diversity and inclusion focus and ensure all candidates receive high quality experience throughout the recruitment, selection, and on-boarding processes.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as primary point of contact for associate recruiting outreach. Oversee and manage on campus interview (OCI) process from start to finish, including registration, resume selection, interview preparation, candidate callback and decision processes across offices.
- Plan and execute early and year-round recruiting events. Assist with Susan B. Livingston Boot Camp for Success pipeline program.
- Serve as liaison to summer associates. Plan and execute summer clerk program in accordance with firm’s recruiting strategies and priorities, including onboarding, orientation, events and activities, work assignments, evaluations, and decision processes.
- Assist in planning, coordinating, and facilitating initiatives and programs for associate attorney onboarding and orientation, integration, professional development and mentorship program.
- Maintain recruiting reports. Support the firm’s recruiting and hiring committees including coordinating meetings and related events.
- Maintain and track recruiting data via CRM. Generate reports as needed.
- General administrative tasks.
- Maintain detailed financial information for budget tracking purposes.
- Additional projects related to the firm’s commitment to recruiting, hiring, and retaining diverse talent.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience in student recruitment or development, communications, or education. Legal recruiting experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites and video conferencing platforms.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment independently with limited supervision, as well as part of a team.
- Ability to communicate well with various applicants, attorneys, and staff, as well as contacts outside of the firm.
- Use of good judgement and well-developed problem-solving skills.
- Keen awareness of and appreciation for diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Limited travel (e.g., campus events, summer receptions and events), including evenings and weekends.
