POSITION SUMMARY :

Performs a variety of maintenance upkeep, repair or work on equipment, buildings and grounds, which involves the regular performance of duties in areas such as electrical, mechanical, metal working, welding and pipefitting.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

• Installs and maintains water, gas, air, oil and heating piping and associated equipment. Such as pumps, reducing / relief valves, temperature control and ventilating systems
• Performs electrical work, including plan layouts, installs and repairs wiring, electrical fixtures and apparatus such as fuses, circuit breakers, switches and motors
• Diagnosis and fix electrical failure or problems
• Installs, repairs, and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance.
• Troubleshoots mechanical devices in operation.
• Dismantles machinery and removes / replaces defective parts.
• Determines changes in requirements of parts by inspecting and measuring various instruments.
• Maintains inventories of equipment parts and supplies by checking stock and placing orders.
• Maintains a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Performs mechanical operations to build, repair and maintain plant machinery, such as machine parts where machinery requirements must hold close to the specifications; works from drawings or samples and uses machines such as grinders, hand tools and measuring instruments
• Performs metal working duties, such as repairing or installing steel or aluminum wall siding, doors, duct work, shelving and other metal materials
• Inspects building and grounds for any repairs or maintenance needed and reports findings to the supervisor
• Follows all safety policies and procedures including use of safety equipment (PPE) and equipment safeguards
• Performs other related duties
