What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Coordinator - Residential Remodeling position at Bald Cypress Builders LLC?
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Coordinate BCB’s active projects in collaboration with Project Manager and other Team Members, primarily from the active project sites, according to the project’s contract, specifications, construction documents, clients preferences, and code requirements, etc.
- Oversee active project site cleanliness and organization
- Responsible for active project sites looking professional and safe at all times
- Spearhead ensuring active project homes are protected for the duration of construction
- Responsible for project material management by checking materials upon delivery to project sites and occasionally picking up materials for projects
- Ensure active project sites are kept accessible and secure
- Responsible for ensuring active project sites have all necessary documentation and communication
- Manage and improve BCB’s material inventory process
- Occasionally assist with project demolition
- Participate in BCB’s Project Start and Project Completion processes
- In collaboration with Project Manager, coordination and/or execution of “scope gap” work
- Play important role in ensuring active projects adhere to project schedules
- Participate in active project municipality inspections
- Using BCB’s construction management software, submit DAILY Job Logs
- Assist in scheduling and facilitating during construction active project meetings (ex. Pre-Drywall Meeting, Punch List Meeting, etc.)
- Be willing to jump in on miscellaneous project execution needs in order to ensure project details come to life correctly and according to the project’s schedule
- Verify all Trade Partners have an approved Purchase Order prior to beginning any work
- Ensure project sites are ready for Trade Partners to perform their scope of work
- In collaboration with Project Manager, communicate Trade Partners’ scope of work in the field through Purchase Orders and official project documents
- Review completed Trade Partner work for accuracy and quality
- If necessary, coordinate with Trade Partners to fix incorrect work, missing work, and project site clean up/organization
- Ensure material suppliers/vendors have access at project sites to delivery materials
- Assist with project material storage/management when project materials are delivered to BCB’s Main Office
- Point Team Member overseeing BCB’s inventory process
- Participate in completed project warranty requests
- Participate in training & development opportunities provided by BCB
- Exercise safe construction practices in every situation, including wearing the appropriate level of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in any given situation (safety is critical)
- Treat our Team’s office like it’s your own space by keeping things clean, organized, and presentable
- Attend all scheduled internal BCB meetings
- Attend all scheduled Client, Trade Partner, and supplier/vendor meetings
- Regularly utilize technology, such as a smartphone, laptop, online software, and applications as required tools for overall project coordination, client communication, Team communication, and Trade Partner/vendor communication
- Contribute ideas for more effective ways to do things as a BCB company, in your role, and on projects - we aim for continuous improvement and our Team’s ideas are a critical piece of that
- Earnestly protect the privacy and sensitive information of Bald Cypress Builders, our Team Members, our Trade Partners, and our clients at all times
- If opportunities arise, participation in community events as a BCB representative
- Show BCB pride and recognizability by wearing company-provided BCB gear during working hours
- Willingness to occasionally wear “different hats” as a member of a small Team

EXPERIENCE & FIT FOR THE JOB
- A passion for/interest in growing as a professional in the construction industry
- Strongly preferred (not required): prior experience in construction industry or similar field, prior experience in residential remodeling is a strong plus
- Strongly preferred (not required): prior hands-on experience with light rough/finish carpentry and simple mechanical functions, such as turning on & off water supplies, turning on & off power, and capping plumbing lines preferred, willingness to learn required
- Ability to take measurements, calculate dimensions, perform “construction math,” and count quantities (or ability to quickly learn)
- Attention to detail and organizational skills required
- Prior experience using digital communication/organizational online platforms and applications (examples include Google Drive, Gmail, etc.) required, with enthusiasm for transferring that experience to learning BCB-specific softwares and applications
- Ability and willingness to use technology as a regular work tool for meeting Position Responsibilities & BCB company processes (i.e., smartphone, laptop, etc.)
- Familiarity with reading, interpreting, and communicating architectural Construction Plans, Drawings, and Elevations, design renderings, sketches, and visuals for practical application in the field strongly preferred (not required), ability to learn required
- Ability to comprehend construction Specification verbiage preferred, willingness to learn required
- Forward-thinking, anticipatory personality with an aptitude for anticipating potential challenges around the corner before they happen
- Excitement about seeing residential construction projects come to life in a high-quality way so clients are thrilled with their choice to hire BCB
- Natural passion for working with clients/homeowners in a professional, understanding manner, and in accordance with BCB’s policies and procedures
- Ability to set and keep priorities in a constantly changing environment
- Commitment and ability to professionally communicate with our Team, clients, Trade Partners, and community in-person, over the phone, via text messages, over email, and through online platforms
- Comfortable with regularly driving a company-provided vehicle daily (and occasionally driving personal vehicle if company vehicle is in the shop for maintenance)
- Ability to reliably be responsible for company credit card and make pre-approved, project-related purchases
- Thirst for collaboration, brainstorming, and executing new ideas in a small business environment
- OSHA 10 Certification or ability to get it within first 30 days of employment (company-sponsored)
- Possess a service-oriented mindset when working with clients, Trade Partners, our BCB Team, and the community
- Comfortable with having regular photos and videos taken of you for BCB’s marketing and client education purposes
- Willingness to spend time in and be protective of private, residential homes and properties
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Must have a valid SC Driver’s License
- Must be comfortable undergoing a background check, driving record check, drug screen, employment authorization, and with BCB checking references
- Must be at least 18 years old (due to insurance stipulations)

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- In-person position; at BCB’s Main Office, project sites, and various industry locations (this is NOT a remote position)
- Anticipated schedule around 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday 9 AM - 5 PM, with some schedule variability when necessary
- Ability to lift and carry at least 90 lbs.
- Ability and enthusiasm to occasionally exercise physical strength throughout the day
- Comfort with frequently being outside, and occasionally doing things like: climbing ladders, being on top of roofs, operating power tools, operating small construction equipment, and occasionally being in tight spaces (such as in crawl spaces, closets, bathrooms, etc.)
