Inventory Control Helper - Overnight Shift

Position Duties and Responsibilities:

• Count merchandise in stock and posts totals to inventory records
• Compare inventories to office records or computes figures from records such as sales orders, production records, or purchase invoices to obtain current inventory
• Verify clerical computations against physical count of stock and adjusts errors in computation or count, or investigates and reports reasons for discrepancies
• Generate reports such as inventory balance or shortages
• Prepare lists of depleted items and recommends survey of defective or unusable items
• Ensure compliance with all inventory policies and procedures and manage inventory for the distribution center
• Work collaboratively with the Inbound and Outbound Warehouse Supervisors on continuous improvements within the warehouse operations
• Management replenishment process from overstock
• Prepare and reconcile all daily cycle count processes and prepare reports within agreed timeframes.
• Monitor all inventory issues and ensure effective resolution for all departments
• Prepare reports (stock movements, delivery fulfillment, inventory variance, etc.) for the warehouse Manager
• Perform slotting maintenance to ensure efficient order fulfillment
• Checks in Delivery Drivers, inspecting all returning trailers, verifying returned goods and damaged products and re-entering goods into inventory.
• Handles all matters relating to inventory control, checking quality of designated product, taking daily inventory on product.
• Breaks full cases of produce into smaller ones
• Keeps inventory up on a daily basis.
• Sorts through pallets of bad products.
• Determines quality of products returned by customers.
•  Local point of contact for Quality Department
• Check, pull, segregate and document recalled or quarantined products
• Perform random audit on various warehouse processes as defined by DC Manager
• Maintain and update inventory using the Silvercreek system on a regular basis and ensure accuracy of same at all times
• Coordinate with other departments and provide inventory support at all times
• Perform other duties as assigned

Speed, accuracy and safety are paramount to successfully meet the requirements of the position

Physical Requirements: Requires the ability to do repetitive lifting of 5 to 20 lbs. constantly, 15 to 30 lbs. frequently, and 30 to 50 lbs. occasionally. Must be able to stand and walk 7 to 10 hours per day. Also the incumbent must be able to:

• Walk and stand for long hours. (8 hours min.)
• Key punching required
• Bend, lift, twist and climb.
• Lift at least 50 lbs.
• Work in a cold environment (40 degree and/or 0 degree).

Equipment/Programs used to Perform Job: Powered pallet jacks, hand pumping jacks, stock picker, forklift, box cutter, RF Scanner

Education / Skills:

• Ability to read English language at High School 9^th grade level
• Ability to use computer technology
• Prior warehousing experience in a food environment preferred
• Electric pallet jack, order picker

Working Conditions:

• Normal warehouse conditions. The employee is subject to repetitive bending, lifting and moving up to 100 pounds.
• The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
• The employee must be able to work in various temperatures, freezer (-35), grocery, and cooler (30 to 40 degrees Fahrenheit).
• The employee must be able to stand, walk and climb stairs for extended periods of time.
• The employee must be mobile.
• Employees in all warehouse positions must be able to immediately perceive auditory warning signals such as bells, alarms, and horns that are used to warn employees of the start-up, movement, or approach of equipment (including forklifts, turrets, overhead cranes, conveyors, trucks, and other equipment operated inside or outside the warehouse), mechanical abnormalities, and similar risk situations during warehouse operations.
• Must submit to and pass a drug screen.
